After finding out that even small 3v CR2032 Lithium batteries are a restricted item listed by the IATA for air shipping, and many emails between postal carriers, I decided the best way to overcome horrendous shipping charges and possible delivery failures is to ship the clocks without a backup battery installed. CR2032 batteries can be easily brought at your local store. However to allow for easy installation of the battery, I had to change the casing design to have a battery access hatch. Below is a photo of a prototype case with the hatch open showing the battery. This has caused a small delay – I was planning to have them ready for sale in June, looking at later this month now.
